Depends. Just to write a program, maybe 5 or 6. To do a good job, tight code, few or no bugs, user friendly... probably 12 or 15.

Lets reduce this scale 0-1
that is what programing ultimately consists of 0's and 1's
Even actually writing a program is not that difficult, say about a 3 on your scale
BUT
If you want a good program, with nice tight code and few bugs
on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 12

this question really has no answer. How difficult is it to calculate the gravitation pull on a satellite in orbit? How difficult is it to calculate the distance to a star? If you take the time to learn something, you will learn it well and have fun doing it.

When I was a kid all I wanted to do was program video games so I knew it was something I wanted to do and was going to accomplish it no matter what. I started with a "hello world", then a hello world in color and blinking and moving across the screen. I made hello world explode and burn with a blur. I learned to control an object on the screen with a joystick and learned collission detection. It took many years and as frustrating as it was, it was no harder than anything else I tried to learn.

Though if I had to assign an arbitrary weight on the matter, I would choose 5 because you will be challenged, but if that is what you really want to do, you will enjoy the challenge and come out victorious.

I will tell you this though, debugging will make your hair fall out!!

10 being the hardest or the easiest? I guess I'd be safe if I said 5? :)
Well, if 1 is easiest, then I'd say 3 or 4. I chose two numbers because some computer languages and operating systems are easier to use than others.

Depends on what you're programming. This would rate a 1:

#include
int main() {
cout << "Hello world!";
return 0;
}

Writing Windows... would rate a 10.

Its purely a personal thing. If you are good with logic problems then it will be simple otherwise it is like any other activity, difficult at first but it gets easier with practice (I know from experience).

if you are retarded i could imagine it would be quite difficult. if you have the desire you can easily do it. it's a learning process and it doesnt happen overnight. be patient and learn new things. the internet is your source for sources.
