MOST LIKELY MEANS NO THEY DONT WANT TO GO OUT WITH U!!!SOMETIMES IT MEANS THEY WONT U TO ASK UTHEM YOUR SELF

it means your friend is acting as a go between to get you and this guy together , it also means he may well feel a bit embarrassed about the question or even confused and he feels he cannot commit himself , take action step forward do it yourself and try to get to know this guy you never know he might turn out to be a really nice guy

From a gut point of view that means yes they do like you and they what to find out if you like them. Now that thats said that also means they are afraid that if they like you and you dont like them that they are going to get hurt

Hmm well it depends on how they say it...because they could either be hiding the fact that they DO like you, and they don't want to tell your friend because your friend will tell you, or they DON'T like you and they don't want to hurt your feelings when your friend tells you that they don't like you...either that or he doesn't really like the fact that your friend is asking rather than you

if you're in elementary or middle school, it's normal. You could ask him yourself, but you're probably not ready to "date". If you're in high school or older, grow up and go ask him yourself.
