I know 1 Maddy and 1 Maddie! But it seems to me it was their choice to be called Madd either Y or IE!!! It sems to me that IE would be more Scottish than English? You know the way you talk about laddie/lassie etc. But then ... It's only my idea and i could be wrong.

Probably Maddie as some people may think Maddy means that the person is crazy.
