gas dryer, natural gas costs less to dry the same amount of clothes and dries them faster, also clothes seem to feel softer.

First, you have to use only electric for the Washer. Second, I have used both natural gas and Electric dryers. the dryer I have now is Gas, and it seems to dry the clothes a lot faster on any cycle. Then again you might want to think about how many other appliances that are using your gas(Hot Water Heater) Kitchen Range? Your Refig. uses electric, both the washer and dryer use electric. Only gas dryers use 110Volts, and electric are 220volts which might also be used for your central A/C. These are the pros and cons of the reasons for the different types of appliances. Like I said I use Natural Gas and I like it better.

Gas dryer, slightly higher cost to purchase, but more economical to operate. Also drys faster. Never seen a gas washer though.

Gas should be cheaper to use for the dryer. Any appliance that generates heat will use a lot of electricity.

Few people have BOTH hook-ups! Are you certain that's a 30 amp 220 volt outlet? If what you say is true, I'd search for the best deal. Gas will be higher.

Gas will keep going up in price. Electricity produced by nuclear fission is probably the future. If you are going to be in the house a long time (years) go with electric. If you keep it clean it will be most epfficient for you.

Even though gas itself is more expensive than electric, and the appliance is more expensive in gas version
the extra cost is readily recovered becuse it drys faster, using less fuel than its electric counterpart.

Electric just for the fact that a gas's leak can kill you
