I received an email, supposedly from Yahoo, notifying me that I have won $ 500. I am supposed to click on the link that will take me to your web page regarding the lottery, and follow the instructions for giving you the info necessary to deposit this in my PayPal, StormPay, e-gold or Money Bookers account. Before I click on the link, I thought I 'd better check it out first. Thanks

NO. It is a scam.
Dozens of people from the UK have asked the same question on Yahoo answers.
Its a good thing you checked.
They are trying to prey on people's gullibility and greed so they can get people's personal information so they can steal your identity or raid your accounts..
Its called "Phishing" you know like fishing for information.

NO! STEP AWAY FROM THE E-MAIL! IT IS A SCAM! Yahoo is not holding such a lottery. It probably will ask for your credit card number, and if you type it in, the crook who sent you it will use it for identity theft. DO NOT BE TRICKED INTO DOING THAT.

forward the e-mail to yahoo customer service it is a scam, send them what you just wrote and the e-mail as an attachment, help shut those asses down.
