I am engaged to be married in July. Until recently I have gotten along really well with my fiance's family. However, there are times when one of his sisters ignores me ( she has a little bit of a stand offish attitude) but fore the most part it is fine. Usually I will ignore any rude comments or ignore the times when she ignores me. A couple days ago my family threw me a surprise b-day party and afterwards my fiance's sister called him and said ignored her the whole time. This is not true!! I even said thank you for coming and she gave me attitude. I do not know rahter to be completely pissed off at her or what. I think this is all a little childish and it really pisses me off. I dont want my fiance to be caught in the battle! What do I do

Either confront your soon-to-be sister-in-law openly about it or wait until after you are married to see if she changes. She is probably a little scared that you are taking her brother away and replacing her. Make her feel like her brother isn't giving her up. Mention that he talked about her the other day or something. Take the first step to make things right, you will be glad later on. Sisters-in-law can make life miserable if you let them.

Next time she makes a rude comment, don't blow it off. Look her square in the eye and ask "What did you mean by that?" Most people do not like being put on the spot, and (believe it or not)she may not realize it hurts your feelings so much.

I did this with my mother in law, (she had no idea she was offending me, but she is kind of clueless) and she has pleasant ever since.

how old is the sister? is the brother older or younger then her? Is there a dad in the picture? she's probably having a hard time letting go of her brother. Its normal. Or she could just not like you so she's going to try to break you and her bother up (watch out for this)!

I have had the sister-in-law from Hell. She would come visit and take over my house, He took her side and there was nothing I could do. Finally I left. Took my 4year old and 1year old and left. I called and told him that I would be back when that b***h was gone. I didn't have any more problems. You'd better confront your fiance now and ask him to handle it, or you will have to later on.

I have had problems with my sister- in law in the past to. She would always talk about me behind my back and everything. If I were you id just ignore her kill her with kindness. If that dosnt work try to stay away from her if you have to go around her smile say hello to her and walk away. She is just being ignorant ignore her.

Sadly enough you can not change her . She sounds like she is planning to manipulate your husband . her brother during your entire relationship . YOur fiance must let her know that he is an adult and is not going into her realtionships and would expect the same respect he has for her towards his . My sympathy for having to deal with a crazy loco !
