I am looking for a 1995 to 2000 250cc two stroke dirt bike. Which bikes these years have the least problems? Also, which are the fastest?

Probably the KTM.

But if I were you, I'd get a Honda CRF450....that is a kick *** bike!

Motocross or trail riding?

For MX, the Honda CR250 and Yamaha YZ250 from those years are still competitive. In '97 Honda went to an aluminum frame and some people complain that the '97 model was too stiff. The '94-'98 Kawasaki KX250 is also a good bike, there were some motor issues with the '99 and '00 KX's. The Suzuki RM's from that era had some suspension issues. I wouldn't even consider the KTM SX series from those years for MX.

For trail riding, the CR, KX and YZ's mentioned above can be modified for trail riding, but a better choice would be a factory enduro bike. In that category the '98 and up KTM is a great choice. Both the Suzuki RMX and Yamaha WR were discontinued after '97, but they are also good choices. Husqavarna (Husky) offered a 250 enduro bike during that era, but it wasn't very popular and sometimes parts can be an issue. Personally your best bet would be a '97 and up KDX220. While not a 250 it is probably the most forgiving bike of the group and there are plenty of aftermarket hop-ups available to make it competitive against the 250's. My favorite 250 enduro bike is the GasGas EC and XC models from '98 on up.

is really a personal opinion but a few technicalities is it gonna be a four stroke or two stroke what year model these are all factors but as a general outlook Honda for a four stroke is a wise choice and for a two stroke Honda or Yamaha would both be great choices
