My favorite was the Seacliff Motel in Gualala http://www.seacliffmotel.com/ My wife and I spent our first valentine's weekend there and it was PERFECT. Right by the ocean, you hear the waves all night and have a great view from your deck. In room fireplace and jacuzzi, free champagne. I highly recommend it. If you decide to give it a try, ask for something on the 2nd floor. A little more expensive, but worth it for the view (which you also have from the jacuzzi).
