Fellowship of the Ring doesn't have a lot of action because it has to fill you in on all the backstory ( I shouldn't say *all* the backstory, there is a lot that you don't know about if you haven't read the books) and introduce you to all the characters. For this reason I truly enjoy the movie although it is not my favorite of the three. Two Towers is where you will fine all the action and story progression, my least favorite of the three propably because it strayed so far from the book. My favorite is Return of the King, it has story, action and tears. What more could you ask for? I would recomend the movies and books to anybody (and everybody)

Well, I have all three extended versions and have seen them all. I like them and hate them at the same time. I have also read the books many times. I like the fact that someone made an attempt at making them into films but then i realized that you can't tell the full story and be able to keep an audiance. Peter Jackson's version is a lot better than what the hollywood producers originally wanted. They were going to want it as two movies only and it would have totally sucked. So I sort of love it but it could have been better.

Once I was bored to death and it was Saturday and they were showing it on TV. I spent my entire day watching it--they can make an hour-and-a-half movie go four hours. They can make a four hour movie go eight. That was the dullest day of my life, but it was a pretty good movie (it was the second one by the way, I think I saw the first one too though. it takes perserverance)

I personally don't like any of the LOTR movies. My family owns all of them and I have tried dozens of times to watch them but kept falling asleep, so I just gave up. But I have heard from quite a few people that they are the best movies they ever saw!!! Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.
