Good luck with getting them to do anything. We moved into a brand new neighborhood, and asked for a pick-up box to be installed. The mailman told one of our neighbors "I'll pick up the mail from your mailbox if I feel like it. I'm not required to pick it up!" We were denied a pick-up box.

Write to them, petition them as a community. It may work. Actually, they are trying to "streamline" by reducing the number of collection boxes.
