It is way overused on tv these days, and now I am hearing it in the regular world too much. "Amazing" says is so non-descriptive and ambiguous. Why do people use that word, especially on tv?
"Amazing" could mean, "you amazingly suck" or "You amazingly have talent." I am so sick of hearing this word. Any comments?

AMAZING! Abosultely amazing. Why anyone would wonder in amazement about such a word is totally amazing to me.
Amusing too! But definately amazing.
And because it's so amazing I'm going to tell you that you -- YES YOU! -- are AMAZING too!
It's an amazing topic that you picked to discuss. I'm sure you'll be amazed with all the answers you'll receive. I love it when people are so baffled, stupified and amazed.
It's amazing! TOTALLY AMAZING!
While in a maze, the other day, I was wondering around thinking . . . well, how do I get out of this amazing maze?
And did you know some AMAZING facts: Madonna made an album entitled "Amazing" in 2000. It flopped, which is amazing to me, because, after all -- it's MADONNA. And everyone knows how amazing she is. What with all her movies, books and let us not forget the amazing performance she gave in SHANGHAI SURPRISE. I'm amazed that she's not running for Presidency of the United States of America.
And what's even MORE amazing is the idiot who had the amazing sense to register Amazing.com.
What a POS website that is! And yet . . . it's amazing, isn't it!
Please don't be sick anymore. It's not amazing. Feel better ' kay?

It's true - one always sees celebrity magazines boasting 'amazing photos' inside, and it's just pictures of some moderately famous person in their home. Pictures from the Hubble telescope are amazing - not these. The word is losing it's meaning, like 'awesome'. I went on a tour of a science facility and the silly young guide said it would be 'awesome' if we could all stick together. We duly stuck together as asked, but I did not see anyone struck with awe.

Well, it's another word for awesome, which is also a bit overused. I guess they needed to balance out the use of the word "awesome" by inventing another word that means the same thing that would balance out the use of the word.
I also noticed the used the word "I" a whole lot too...hmm....

haha it must be one of those words now. i say "fantastic" a lot. i say "amazing" sometimes too when i'm being sarcastic. like one of my friends will do something stupid and i'll say "that's amazing..."
PS - "you amazingly suck" isn't grammatically correct... that sounds totally stupid.
