My best guess is that this statement implying you are a high risk taker and asking for trouble...

- Genetically predisposed to be an alcoholic (living in a glass house)

- Drinks every night with friends (throwing stones in the house)

Hope that makes sense

Somebody thinks I am criticizing someone else's faults (throwing stones) but that I shouldn't because I have some very visible faults of my own (in my glass house) and when they criticize me in return (throw stones back at me) my glass house will break .

If someone asked this question to me then I would have to ask them why do you ask me this. But since you have left me with this to work with here goes....This means to me if someone ask me this...That I should be care full not to say things to hurt other people. I cant just throw whatever I want out there to let it go to the wind, for it may cause great danger to a person with a sensitive heart. That's it. God Bless you!

It means they thought you were doing the same thing you were accusing them of doing and they thought you were a hypocrite. I find people generally do this to deflect the question. Most likely you were confronting them on a behavior they shouldn't have been doing. Half the time it's not even true but no one wants to be a hypocrite so they shut up. You shouldn't let it shut you up. Real friends confront friends when they are acting inappropriately or without moral fiber.

If somebody make this remark to you, most likely that person is saying do not hurl snide remarks, criticize or pass judgment at them. Because you, yourself got a lot of faults that he could point out or criticized too.; by way of retaliation; with more severe consequences. As you are in a very vulnerable position or you have too many secrets in the closet.or dirty laundry for everybody to see.

I would think that maybe that person feels that I am a sensitive person who's life may not be real stable, and that they are implying that I might have been pointing out someone else's faults.

If someone said this to me, I would assume I had made a critical remark about someone's actions that I, too, was guilty of doing.

Your questions doesn't really make sense ... I would think they were implying that I was doing what the statement means ... of course.

it means that apparently i have stepped on a nerve and hit a sensitive issue. apparently the other person thinks i am guilty of doing whatever the topic of conversation is at the time.
