I believe this prejudice existed even before the availability of contact lenses and has likely intensified since they became available.

People love the sunnies because people can't see if you are stoned or drunk by your eyes, people cant see where you are looking (great on a nude beach), and if people can't make direct contact with your peepers they don't know if you're lying to them. It's all about the eyes, windows to your soul, everyone wants to protect theirs.

Glasses are a sign that someone has poor eyesight. Since us humans are still programmed to think in terms of the survival of our genes, we want to have offspring with the best possible genetic information. Wearing glasses advertises that you have a weakness, and I think that we may (unconsciously or not) still pay attention to those things as we evaluate potential mates and others around us.

Actually, a guy with glasses can really turn me on just looking at him and watching him talk. Maybe it's the mystique attached to them portraying intelligence? It's a funny quirk I have.

I only if don't like glasses if they look dorky. If you find glasses that fit your head shape people hardly even notice them.
