Define Wounded

is an injury from battle or an accident which directly leads to death of an individual. Death is not instantenous, but inevitably follows the injury. An example of a mortal wound could be a person who is shot in the stomach. Without quick medical care, this wound will often become fatal. A mortal wound is also a relatively common statistic in books and articles dealing with warfare. The term was made fairly famous in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail when the king of swamp castle speaks many times of people whom he thought were dead for sure. Injury is damage or harm caused to the structure or function of the body caused by an outside or force, which may be physical or chemical.

if a person receives an injury, either by accident or they are intentionally wounded by someone, and that injury will cause them to die within a short period of time as it cannot be treated. an example would be if someone was shot multiple times and was too badly injured for their life to be saved. an injury causing someone to die over a long period of time, e.g. blood poisoninig in a knife wound, isnt classed as being mortally wounded
