If he's in for life he's eligible for a public defender for an appeal or to file for a new trial based on new exculpatory evidence.

They all say they didn't do it. Every single one of them. Once in a while they really are innocent, but the odds are astronomical against that, mostly they're right where they need to be.

Because of that most attorneys won't take an inmate's case, it's a waste of their time and they'll all want the money up front. Usually around $20,000. Good luck with that.

your other posts say that he's in prison already. why do you need a lawyer?

I guess you'll either have to take out a second mortgage, or get a public defender.
