for population pyramids, how do you fiqure out if they have a fast rate of population growth or not?

There are two parts to population growth:
1.) More children being born (On the pyramid, a wide base that shows a lot of young children)
2.) Less people dying (On the pyramid, this would be shown as the pyramid not levelling off quickly).

So, as long as you have a wide-based pyramid that doesn't level off quickly, you probably have a fast rate of population growth. Note: This does not take immigration into account - since immigrants can be of any age.
