For my project at school, one of my questions to answer is
Which are the most deadly snakes in the world?
I would be grateful if someone would give me some names of some deadly snakes, and what makes them so deadly.

The sea snake is the most venimous -- about 50 times more than the worst earth bound snake and that would be the cobra.

The Inland Taipan is the most poisonous land snake.

The Hooknose Sea snake is the most poisonous snake period. It actually contains Hematoxins and Neurotoxins, so you stop breathing and your flesh begins to rot at the same time. No other snake has this.

The Gaboon Viper kills more people per year than any other snake.

Notables are the Mambas, the Boomslang, Cobras, and the Anaconda, just because it's freakin' huge.

And by the way, any snake can bite you in the face, not just the Black Mamba.

Depends on if you mean deadly as in the most venomous or deadly as in kills the most people.

Most venomous snake: The Hook-nosed seasnake (Enhydrina schistosa) from The Perisan Gulf to Southern Asia is considered to be the most poisonous. Its venom is estimated to be 100 times more potent than the King Cobra. But few people are killed by it because like most seasnakes, it is shy and gentle and seldom bites, even when handled by people.

Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) from Australia

Deadliest snake: The King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) from India eastward to Vietnam, southern China, and the Philippines, and Southeast Asia through Malaysia and Indonesia. It is also considered the longest venomous snake, averaging 3m with the longest verified length at 5.58m. Although its venom may not be as toxic as the hook-nosed seasnake, the King Cobra can inject a larger quantity of venom. Its glands can contain about 6 millilitres of venom, which is enough to kill an Asian elephant.

The most deadly snake, and the most dangerous snake are two entirely different concepts. Some of the snakes with the most toxic venom, i.e., the most deadly, rarely bite people.

The Most Dangerous Snakes are those that kill the most people.

Cobras, sea snake, vipers, and adders are some of the world's most poisonous snakes.

I suggest typing "deadliest snakes" and doing a search on yahoo.
this is your project and designed to teach you to research answers to the questions. Evidently you have access to a computer and therefore the tools to find this information on your own.

It does no good for your education if other people just give you the answers.

sea snakes, black mambas, pit vipers, rattlesnakes and coral snakes I believe. rattlesnakes aren't really that dangerous but if you include number of times people are bitten and die, then the rattlesnake is one of the top snakes. sea snakes possess the most poisonous venom of any snake, considering their habitat. and black mambas are the only snake that can bite you on the face. PLUS, their venom rots flesh. so when you see people bitten by mambas usually they have a finger or something that's completely black and dead.
