I don't know. With everything that is allegedly going to send me to Hell, I've pretty much decided I'm doomed so I might as well enjoy myself. Let's see: I'm not baptized, and I like Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't regularly go to church or read the Bible. Therefore, I guess I'm going to Hell but if I'll still have Harry and Buffy it'll be more interesting than Heaven!

I'm a Christian and I read Harry Potter. I'm the number 1 Harry Potter fan in the world. There is a difference between entertainment and beliefs. Some people don't know when to stop associating fun with the devil's work.

I don't have any problem with a person deciding that a book isn't for them. But I do have a problem with people deciding that a book is "evil" or should be "banned" for OTHERS. This is ESPECIALLY INFLAMMATORY when they haven't taken the time to PERSONALLY read the material for themselves with an open-mind.
I would also like to point out that it's totally hypocritical to praise books like Narnia and to condemn the Harry Potter books. If magic and wizardry is not to be tolerated in some literature for Christians then it should not be tolerated in ALL literature. Stop justifying literary devises for some and not for others.

I know. Sad, sad people. The Potter books are the timeless battle of good verses evil. Where have we seen that one before? The thing is that Christians tend to like the CS Lewis Narnis books, which also have witches and magic in them.

II think Jesus might just like Harry Potter it's probably way more entertaining than the books he read when he was a kid.

The bible does say, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." (Exodus 22:18)
Can you blame them from taking it seriously?
Personally, I think HP is a good influence. It pits good vs evil, and it looks like good will win.
