Yeah they're nice, and cool too. But for the amount of bikes they produce, in the hundreds of thousands a year, they are ultimately overpriced, especially in America where the lack of tariffs (like imported bikes get) and such should make them cheaper. When My custom 1500 Drifter is parked at the Harley dealership, by the time I get back outside there are a bunch of Harley guys oohing and ahhing over it. Water cooled you say? Digital Fuel Injection( with a manual choke ) and Electronic Throttle Position Sensor? 90 Cubic inches Stock? Holy Crap! All that and looks like a '48 Indian Chief. Best of all worlds. Ok, I've just got to go outside and look at it for a couple of minutes.......In the end they're all just steel and fire. If you're riding(and not just to bike night once a week) you're a brother. Don't matter what you ride. When my buddy Fish rides his '78 CB750 Ratbike White Trash Special to Sturgis each year, he's always a hit. Stop hatin' Keep Ridin' and give up the wave.

Motorcycles: two wheels and an engine. It goes down the road and you experience the ride. That's what it's all about. I'm what you'd call a motorcyclist, maybe some of you are familiar with the term. I don't give a damn what anyone else rides, if it's a Harley or a Honda or what ever, that person is going for a ride and I'm happy they have the opportunity to enjoy it. If all I could afford was a mini bike, I'd ride that too.

HARLEY DAVIDSON...as a rider with 45 yrs exp. an a American all I can say is....Harley Davidson, if I have to explain...you wouldn't understand. Take a trip to York Pa. and go on a factory tour. You will see and feel pride of the worker as they build the Harleys. Sit on a Harley...fire it up..roll down the open highway,,Oh my....I'm getting carried away...sorry. Hope to meet ya on the road. Have a great day.

I agree. I know that there are other bikes out there much cheaper and much more efficient. But let's be real, a Harley D is all American. There is no feeling like driving past a group of waving kids. They know what the spirit is.

Do you have a question? Or are we supposed to agree or disagree?
I'd disagree.
And BTW, you've done a nice job of luring out the jingoists and those who've apparently gotten their butts kicked by non-harley bikers! Why else all the hatred for people who don't think as they do?
Come on people, let's keep this section fun and informative! There's enough hatred going on in R&S. We don't need it in here.
If you like harleys, great. But why do people feel the need to put down anyone who doesn't agree with them? It's sad, it really is.

I agree- My boyfriend has 4! A 42 flathead, 54 pan, 01 Low Rider and an 03 Road King. Those old bikes kick over every time. There is nothing like riding one of the old ones down main st- everyone looks. But I have to say my favorite ride is the Road King, what can I say I like my backrest.

Fawwk, it's about time that we get to talk bike talk. Enough of this Jap ******** we've been reading about! I think that there should be a seperate Motorcycle section for this. Jap bikes and Harley's. I'm finding more questions about Jap bikes that I can't answer. Well, we can't answer. Tech tips for real bikes and tech tips for jap bikes. A place where we can post pics of our rides ect. Giddy up my fellow Bro's and Sisters!

I wouldnt own a Harley. The Japanese make better bikes, have more money to put into engineering, have years of experience building them. Harley is overrate because of the Discovery channel's biker shows. Also, if Harley is all american, why do they use japanese carbs? japanese electronics??
