i got a 1992 bmw 320 IS and it runs absolutely fine! all you need to make sure is there are not too many owners, sufficient amount of history, and certain parts such as pumps and belts have been changed!

bmw engines, espcially the 6 cylinders last well in excess of 200k miles when properly maintained and serviced! So yes it is dependable and has lots of thrust ;-)

Yes it was in 1992, but now it is getting a bit long in the tooth, so be careful as BMW's are very expensive to repair.

depends entirely on the car...mileage, condition, former owners (how many), etc. Keep in mind youre dealing on a 15 model year old car....how dependable could it really be? how available are parts? and being highline european how inexpensive is it to repair? It must be very nice to garner good money or I personally would pass...if youre looking for dependability in those years I would consider something like a Chevy Lumina some old broad owned before a BMW...cheaper more available parts and many more mechanics would be able to repair it.

It REALLY depends on the condition. BMW repair parts are expensive. If the previous owner didn't give it good maintenance or if it has rust, STAY AWAY.
