Six years ago, I was in a relationship with a very abusive guy. One day, I got up the courage to break up with him but as usual, he turned everything around and I felt like it was my fault and then hung up on me. I sulked for a few minutes and then called him back to apologize. He wasn't there so his brother answered the phone. He said I sounded distraught and offered to listen to me. He was able to put things into perspective for me and gave me the strength I needed to stand up to his brother.
We exchanged phone numbers and started talking to each other for hours on end. When we decided to meet, it was like magic. We agreed on a neutral location, the local mall and met there for the first time. I was supposed to know him by the black coat he was going to be wearing; he was supposed to know me by my red coat. Unfortunately, that day, every man was wearing a black coat and every woman was wearing a red coat.
I shouldn't have worried, though. When I saw him for the first time, it was his eyes that gave him away. Like ice on fire. We didn't say a thing, just reached for each other and held hands. There were people around, but it seemed in that moment that the whole world only belonged to us.
That was the second most romantic moment in my life. The most romantic happened six months later when we were standing at the altar, putting rings on each other's fingers!

My ex was trying to back with me. He planned a perfect date. He met me at a resturant and had me like tons of roses and 7 white roses in the middle for the years we were together, then took me to dinner. He had a brown bag of all my favorite things, candy, water, fruit, etc. Then he took me out to the country to see the moon(which was our thing) from his telescope. It was really the sweetest most romantic thing.

I wanted to go to a dance with this guy so I had a friend ask if he was going. He said yeah, but with another friend, so I went by myself. I was standing with my friend in the middle of the dance floor when a slow song came on and we started to walk out of the way, when the guy that I liked stood there in front of me and held his hand out......he didn't say anything. And if you ask me he didn't have to. When he took me to where we would dance he held he close. I will never forget that night.

Two years after my daughters cancer was diagnosed , my husband and I sat at the beach on valentines day eating chocolate and telling each other how hard it had been. And how glad we had stayed together.
