Not to mention there are a few drag cars that run LPG and do 11sec 1/4 mile time at 160kph plus!!

you will of course lose power when going from petrol to lpg, the calorific value is nowhere near the same. thats a scientific fact, although they can over-fuel it and achieve extra power but would affect efficiency even further!
however, it is less efficient, you have a shorter range! If petrol is giving you say 30mpg, lpg might give you 20mpg but bearing in mind lpg is cheaper!
