First - Having a lawyer doesn't mean "You win!".

Second - It is a hearing so "Appeal!".

Third - You didn't say one thing about your granddaughter. How can we compare them? He is a druggie and an alcoholic? But somehow judged better for your grandchild than your granddaughter. What is she doing?

Fourth - Children should not be removed from their homes, no matter which parent owns the home.

God bless you because this will be tough all the way around.

"Grand Master" is a Masonic rank. A "Master" or "General Master" is simply appointed by the court to take evidence and make recommendations. Only the Judge can enter orders. Generally, the parties are given a set term to object to a Master's report or recommendations, which objections must then be heard by the court.

The judge makes the final decision. The independent master just makes a recommendation. However, the recommendation is often taken very seriously.

So, who has more authority? The judge. Who has more influence on the outcome? it varies.
