A 25.67 cm * 13.42 cm sheet of metal Z has a mass of 1.23 g. calculate the volume of this sheet of metal. whats the thickness. If so, how did you solve this? show work? thank.

You're missing some information. In order to calculate the volume, you need either the thickness, or the density of the metal. If you have the density (or specific gravity) of the metal, that will give you the volume. Then you can divide by the area to get the thickness.

Does the book show examples of how to solve these kind of problems? First thing's first is to make sure what units you need to end up with and then make sure to have any or all of the given units converted accordingly.
