personally, i could never keep a diary. writing down what happened in my day and my feelings didn't appeal to me.
my friend has had a diary since she was 12 or something, she has like 20 of them now. that would be cool stuff to read back on when you are an old woman. :)

I think it's good to keep a diary. I just write what has happened during the day, thoughts I have, basic stuff.

I'm 52 and I've kept one since I was about 12. In latter years I've turned to using a cassette recorder I keep in my truck. I currently have approximately 200 tapes that some poor soul will have to transcribe if they want to put it in print. I really control my stress with the recorder because sometimes I scream into it. It also has many very valuable moments on it because, through the years, I recorded my kids saying their ABC's and 1-2-3's and other such stuff.

I don't keep a diary in the preteen whiney girl sense (a.k.a. "dear diary, today bobby looked at me!") but when I'm stressed out or somethings bothering me I'll write out whatever is going on in my head. It is good to keep a diary/journal because you can release your emotions without affecting anyone else.

I mainly write in my journal when I have either a really great day or a really crummy one. I however don't write anything I would be mortified to have someone else read because a) when I die, I know someone will end up at least flipping through them, and b) who knows if someday I would let my kids read them to see what I was like before they were born (this is of course assuming I have kids)

i like to keep a diary and write down my thoughts and prayers and what is going on.. i like writting down my thoughts cause i forget them, then i can look back and be like, hey i am smart, i should act apone my thought. i like writting down my prayers so i can see if they are answered, also it makes focusing better. i write down what is going on to sort out my thoughts on stuff and decide what to do about it. to get it out, so i can look, make pros and cons lists and such like that. i like keeping a diary (though i call it a journal) but it is not for everyone.

You dont your s*%# is for you to keep not to publicise.....the almost perfect crime was resolved because the the person who committed the crime left a diary behind were he explain detail by detail what he had done ...what a moron.
