That's a possibility. Setup video cameras to capture the spirit if you're lucky. If you don't have a video camera, take a still shot of the suspected place where the spirit is supposed to be. Then when you see either an apparition or a spot of light in the capture, consult a psychic to determine a course of action. All unrested spirits -- malevolent or benevolent -- need help to cross over.
If you don't see anything, it could just be a cold spot of the house.

The theory is that the spirit or entity is absorbing the heat energy from the air so it can manifest, so it leaves an area devoid of heat "cold spot" which can move around as the spirit moves. If you walk through this area, you will feel cold because the temp really is low there.

I believe it is really cold. I do not think they play with your senses in that way. Poltergeists move things, turn lights on and off, throw things around. Some are evil, people who committed terrible deeds or crimes when alive and want to kee[ on doing it. Some have died before their time and cannot accept that they have moved on so they linger around the area where they died. Some people see relatives, who usually come to warn you of something bad that can happen to you or your family. These are ghosts of light, not evil. Nothing is sure though. I always say that they day one dies, is the day that you will find out if there is or there isn't anything on the other side. As for me, I really wish there is, there are a lot of dear people that I want to see again when I go.

if it's a cold spot on a hot day than maybe there might be a spirit. but if it was a day in the middle of January than it's probably just cold.

idk, yet i belive in ghost because the saying is even as ghost or spirits r round flames bypass more effective and that i have a mini lighter with a small flame nd everytime all of it the surprising receives actual chilly in some section i gentle it there and the flame burst up intense, its exceeded off everytime i did it witch develop into like 10 circumstances, plus ive said them myself yet i dont imagine a ghost melted it maby a gust of wind or sumthing blew the flame alll round and it melted the middle some and it fell at a ninety degree attitude
