Turn the box upside down and hold it with your right hand. Smack the top of the box on the heel of your left hand.
If you pack the bottom of the box, you will shake the tobacco out of the cigarettes. The point of packing your smokes is to get the tobacco packed in there tightly.

That's funny. I am a smoker and I don't do that. It hurts my hand. And, on top of that, I have never been able to pack them right. Packing cigarettes makes the tobacco tighter in the cigarette. It does not fall out as easily and it burns slower. Supposedly anyway. I never noticed a difference. I don't even bother trying anymore. Don't you find it annoying when they do that? It drives me crazy. I only see my brother do it now and I can't stand watching him smack his hand like ten times before he opens the pack. Drives me nuts. If they do it real well, the cigarettes are like a quarter of an inch shorter!

Stop smoking is your best bet and you won't have to worry about how to pack a cigarette.
You will feel a whole hundred present better too.
But if you really just can't stop and you really must know you pack it from the top.
Please consider stopping I did It took me praying to God and he help me I was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker I have been quit for 1 1/2 with no desire to smoke what so ever.

It's very dangerous to "pack" your cigarettes. You could make them too tight and while you are smoking the cig could explode!

It's supposed to be upside down......so that all the tobacco goes towards the filter. I pack the crap out of mine.
