Most of the players in the 2006 starting line up for Brasil were playing in the European leagues. I was wondering why the players in the Brasilian league don’t get to feature more in the starting lineup for Brasil? Is it a good thing for Brasil to not include the home based players in the starting line up ? Will Dunga do the same thing as Perriera did?

If you watched the Argentina vs. Brazil friendly in Londo not too long ago, you saw the answer, yes Brazil should incorporate their talent that plays in their league, they destroyed Argentina and they integrated nicely players from brazil and some other european based players which don't get as much media attention because they play in "weaker" leagues and "smaller" clubs and if they would have played in the WC the way they did in that friendly against Argentina, we would be calling them world champs,

you know what it is, once a brasilian has a great year at home, a big european club comes an snatches him up, the difference in money they make in europe, is a substantial amount compared to the salaries in the brasilian league... plus there were a few players that played for the national team that playe in brasil, ricardinho, miniero, rogerio ceni......

i think things are changing. Perreira seemed to pick the big names and that was his downfall. now dunga is come in he is giving all the players a chance. i mean sobis(now gone to betis) and marcelo were playing in the recent friendly for brasil. he is also picking eastern european based players, like elano and carvalho which wasent happening before, because like i said Perreira only picked the big names.

mostly because European countries are the most successful in football...only argentina and brazil from south america ,,the rest are from Europe..so naturally players who play in European leagues are looked favourably by coaches
as i said ...European leagues are more stronger like anyother league so naturally coaches will choose players who play in italy germany france england or spain rather than players who play in brazil or argentina..because they takes more experience...playing for a club in spain forexample is like playing for spain team itself...so they take their talents and way of playing and thats why coaches prefer players who play in European leagues
