I have been on birth control for 6-7 years. I stopped taking them about 2 weeks ago. Since then, my uterus area is just in constant pain. It feels sort of bruised and sore. Could it be something serious or is my body just reacting to the lack of medication?

THIS IS HOW I GOT MY CYSTS ON MY OVARIES... I WAS ON BIRTH CONTROL... THEN I STOPPED... MY PERIODS BECAME IRREGULAR... & I FOUND OUT I HAD CYSTS ON MY OVARIES !!! NOW... I WILL NOT TAKE BIRTH CONTROL... MY DOCTORS TOLD ME YOU USUALLY GET THE CYSTS FROM IRREGULAR PERIODS !!!
WHAT IS EVEN MORE STUPID... IF YOU DO NOT NEED SURGERY FOR YOUR CYSTS...THEN THE DOCTORS PUT YOU ON BIRTH CONTROL TO REGULATE YOUR PERIODS TO GET RID OF THE CYSTS... THEN THEY TELL YOU TO GET OFF THE BIRTH CONTROL IN 3-4 MONTHS & YOU GET THE CYSTS AGAIN !!! DAMNIT !!!

GO TO THE DOCTOR !!!

GOOD LUCK !!!

It's most likely a lack of hormones that is causing your body to react this way. Do you have other symptoms, like feeling fatigue, moody, weepy, bleeding, headache, ect....?

For sure, call your gyno and tell her what you are experiencing and do what she suggests. In the meantime, try drinking some ginger tea to relieve the pain, and do some yoga or other deep breathing exercises.

Hormones are really something you want to keep balanced if at all possible.

Good luck.

You really should see a doctor as soon as you can. I was on the pill for 8 years and the only real side affect to stopping the pill was an irregular period for a few months....that and acne.

Go get this checked out you don't want to risk your health

I agree, no this is not normal. I have stopped taking the pill twice, once was after 8 years and another time was after 6 months, I got no such symptoms.

Get yourself to a Doctor quick-smart!

I think that from taking those pills for so long has made your body inponed to it to the part where if it doesn't take them they start reacting. I recomend that u go see a doctor immediately to tell him about what's happening to u.
