Yes, you CAN fire your lawyer, but he'll still have some compensation coming out of any future settlement... I suggest that you talk to a couple of personal injury lawyers BEFORE you terminate the agreement with your present counsel. Many offer free initial consultations, so it costs nothing but time to shop around a bit.

Yes, subject to whatever contractual terms were in the retainer agreement. But a different attorney might not be able to do better.

Yes you pay him/her if they are not doin the job you need. But make sure. Call another attorney and get a consultation tell them what bothers you and go from there.
