I get so disillusioned with beauty and all the time it takes to dress up and I go to thinking that no matter how much time I take to doll myself up, I will still be unpretty. Somedays I don't even wanna shower and just put my hair up in a messy ponytail. When I go out I wear baggy, unflattering clothes because I am so fat and I end up looking even fatter.

Self esteem issues? _Please find a way to love and accept yourself for who you are and not what you look like. Identify your inner strengths and build on them. Surround yourself with uplifting people in your life. Take care of your hygiene and appearance, even when you do not feel like it. If you cannot shake this alone, consider mental health counseling.

Nothing wrong with BMI of 24. My BMI is 24 and people tell me all the time that I look great. I'm sure your disillusionment with 24 is in the eyes of the beholder--yours!

There are lots of ways to approach this, and any answer here would be incomplete or glib. Clearly there is some underlying issue with self-esteem, and some reason you feel you don't deserve something better.

Maybe for now, until you are able to get professional help (and please do get professional help!!) reset your goals to something easier to aachieve. For example, instead of being 'pretty' you could just for now settle for 'clean.' Clean hair even if up in a pony tail. Ironed clothes even if just baggy & nothing special. A bit of lipstick & eyebrow pencil goes a long way; you need not 'doll up.' Keep it simple.

Another nice trick is to prepare your clothes for the next day before you go to bed. And take your shower before you go to bed. That way if you get up & don't have the energy, at least that much is done & start your day on better footing.

Good luck

Don't worry everyone has their off days.

Also for people who are overweight it's normal to not want to draw attention to that fact but if you're not comfortable with your figure then you really need to think seriously about losing some weight.
When you start you'll feel so much better about yourself.

What was the purpose of asking the question ? (no offence meant)

edit: Dont take meds!! Jeez! It is normal to feel like this especially if you have a weight problem.
Also I meant to say don't pay any attention to numbers like BMI and even the number on the scales. You can just tell by the shape of your body if you are out of shape or not. If you have fat hanging down and no muscle tone etc.

Here's what you do.

Go to the mirror.
Tell yourself you're beautiful. BEE-you-TEE-ful.

Then go outside in something that makes you feel pretty. Count how many people say you're ugly or unnattractive.

Remember- the ugliest person in the world is much more beautiful than a person with a perfect body if Ms. Universe has no manners.

And you are NOT overweight... guys prefer overweight, actually!

It sounds like you are suffering from depression as well as low self esteem.
If you want to feel better, try eating healthier, cut out sweets & refined starches, get some exercise (walking 30 mins a day is fine) and go to a doctor, you may need some meds to help you get on track. Don't be embarrassed about asking for help, depression is pretty common and it isn't your fault.
Beauty isnt about how "dolled up" you get..... it is about feeling good about yourself and the attitude you project. Good luck to you.

Well, I would suggest AT LEAST paying attention to your personal hygiene (showering, brushing your teeth, washing your hair) in addition to wearing CLEAN clothes. Even if you're overweight you can at least take care of your health by eating healthy food, drinking lots of water, getting enough rest, and getting plenty of exercise.

be yourself !!!! -- clean does help, though ---- don't worry about your appearance ( it's probably a lot better than you think ).
Relax and have a good time - who cares what people think - if someone says something negative, tell them to take a number and get it line to kiss your azz.
