I enjoy hunting deer. I also want to be protected in my home. The protection is not just from criminals...but from the possibility of an autocratic government.
The first thing a dictator will do is disarm the public....remember that.

That's like asking if I like screwdrivers or hammers. A gun is a tool if placed in responsible hands. No more no less. I have several different types of guns. Both are tools designed to preform a different function. Do I like guns? No. Do I hate guns? No. They are simply tools.

I like them like I like any good tool. I used to carry a semi-auto 22 hand gun with me on solo hikes in the mountains behind my house (which I used to do 2-3 times/week) because of mountain lions. Don't know if that small gun would have stopped one, but may have made it think twice because of the noise. It is also fun to target shoot with a very good gun like a Ruger MK22 semi-auto target pistol. I don't shoot any living creatures with them, however. I don't carry one for self-defense unless I'm driving out in a remote place by myself. I don't have a self-defense gun in my home but if I did, it would probably be a sawed-off shot gun because you can hit someone in the dark and a person breaking in would (hopefully) recognize the sound of you cocking one and know you could hit him in the dark.

I don't. The only "acceptable" purpose of guns is protection, yet this world would be way better without them.

Its not that I like them, its more a matter of my 2nd amendment right to bear arms. I feel its keeps the government honest.

In a weird way they are cool. I have gone target shooting and handling one and firing is great. I want to get a rifle but for the time being likely not.

I am a little bit older,and my martial arts skills are in a rapid decline.It is much more easy to shoot the bastards than fight with 'em.You go,LEOGIRL.
