try an old sock with old fashioned uncooked rice in it (tie the end). put it in the micro for 1 1/2 minutes and then a bit more at a time until desired heat is reached. place it on the affected area, it provides long lasting moist heat and can be reused many times. ibuprofen will help with pain and inflammation. any icy hot, flex all, ben gay type product should help. he can soak in the tub with epsoms salts. hope he feels better!!

There is an arthroscopic procedure that can be done to remove the adhesions and scar tissue from the shoulder capsule. there's also shoulder manipulation. Make sure your relative continues to use the shoulder, though. It might be painful, but as long as the shoulder can be stretched and moved, it won't get any worse. Frozen Shoulder is caused by immobility, so futher immobility of the joint will only exacerbat the problem. physical therapy can really help improve mobility of the joint, which will help to send the condition into the thawing and healing stage. There's also acupuncture and deep tissue massage that works on some people.

Constant pain like that in the shoulder blade may be a sign of problems with the gall bladder. If pain is also present in what seems to be the diaphram area, take him to emergency at once.

He can try either ibuprofen or Aleve as an anti-inflammatory. Just follow the label directions. I know it helps with my arthritis. If he takes over the counter ibuprofen, since the tablets are 200 mg and 800 mg is prescription strength, he can take 4 tablets 3 times a day, but make sure he takes them with food since ibuprofen can really wreak havoc with the stomach.

if it is feeling better then comes back again is there a chance he has indegestion? if not then any topical analgesic in the drug store like aspercreame or ben gay etc. for fast relief, or when he showers he can let the hot water run down his sholderblade or use a heating pad on low when he sleeps. if it keeps up tho i would have him see a dr to rule out a hairline fracture on his shoulder

Hey there, Last year i was diagnosed with Lymes disease and had severe joint pain, my savior has been ThermaCare heat wraps, You can buy them at your local CVS or supermarket, I would definetly suggest buying them, There great to have in the house for cramps, and come in different shapes and sizes for the appropriate body area.
Good luck,

He should have it checked. It sounds as though he may of did some damage. The only way to get the proper diagnosis and treatment is by an examination and possible X-rays. Please seek professional treatment.
