If a pickle costs a nickle we must be living in the past. If we're living in the past then flies are flying just as fast as they do today, because we went back in time, but not far enough where we would see a change in the flies evolution. If in the past flies are traveling just as fast as flies today, then the fly must be travelling at a maximum of 5 miles per hour. If the fly is travelling that fast, the train must be travelling at least 5.1+ miles per hour

As slow as it wants, because the fly happens to be a drosophila melanogaster drop dead mutant, and the person in charge of setting the fly free at the start accidentally bumped the cage.
