It is possible that the baby is on a nerve or muscle that is causing the pain. Depending on where the pain is. I experienced pain while standing most of my 3rd trimester (I am now 39 weeks) and it was attributed to the fact that I was carrying very low. I would check with my obgyn to be sure.

Have you contacted your doctor. This sounds to me like the baby is making its way down to the birth canal and may be lodged in an uncomfortable position. Does it hurt to sit as well? I would say that your best bet would be to call your doctor and have them do an ultrasound and make sure that there is nothing wrong. You are close to going in labor as it is so your little one may be telling you that he is coming and can't seem to find his way!! Depending on where it hurts you may just be going into labor early. Call your doctor and he should be able to tell you the best.

I am also 37 weeks (due oct 3rd) and have had a low lying pain while standing. My doctor told me it was because my baby is now pressing on my cervix and not floating anymore.

Its a possibly that the baby would be sitting on a muscle or something in your back. Talk to your dr and he maybe able to suggest some messages or streches to relive the pain and pressure. Good luck and congrats on the new baby!

When I was pregnant the baby sat on my nerves in my back and caused a great deal of pain. I think that is probably what you are experiencing. Sit as much as you can. The only good thing is that it is almost over - hang in there.

Also 37 weeks along (due Oct. 3), so I know your pain but what it could be what's called round ligament pain. Here is a website that tells more about it. http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/prenatalhealth/205.html

Where does it hurt? I would ask the Doctor. It could be early signs of labor, your body spreading still, or maybe just the plain ol' miscomfort.

Your legs could just be beginning to swell. Try to wear flat shoes and sit down as often as possible.
