Hey I live in Liverpool in the UK just watching a programme called "9/11 Liars" on "channel 4". I cannot believe people actually faked deaths on this day to claim insurance. Some families haven't even got a grave to visit their loved ones who lost their lives and people are faking deaths just for money. Money isn't everything, I cannot believe how selfish people can be.
What a horrible world we live in. How does this make you feel?

Same as you.

I am never shocked by other people, but I'm frequently horrified.

Those people are going to hell for that! I live in the US and i had no idea that someone would do that! I am not surprised though, people can be horrible. Wow, that really makes me kinda mad just thinking about that. That is so disrespectful to the people who actually lost a family member or friend on 9/11. That seriously pisses me off! Shame on those people. That makes the human race just look bad.

Sadly, this isn't the first time, nor the last time (Katrina), that this has happened. Unscrupulous people will take advantage of the most dire circumstances. There are some people here impersonating veterans, decorated ones no less, that weren't any closer to a war zone than Bush was.
And people wonder why the cost of insurance is so much. Unbelievable.

You are right, this is horrible. Such a tragedy and people will use this for their selfish gain. This is so common here because the system that awards damages is out of control. Anywhere in the country where there is an accident with an empty public bus, when the police arrive at the scene there are suddenly people claiming to be injured on it.

Ste, I wish I could say it evoked any strong emotion in me, but I'm too old and cynical to do much more than sigh. People are nasty. The heart of man inclines to evil, as Solomon said.
I CAN believe how selfish people can be, that's my problem.
But such behaviour is atypical. Hang on to that. The very facts that you are shocked by this, and that you feel the need to share your disgust with others means that you have a potential for goodness. Hold on to it, share it - don't ever reach the point where you don't care!
BTW, I lived in Liverpool in the early 80's. How is the sunshine city?

What struck me about 9/11 was how easy it would have been for the organised crime sydicates in NY to 'off' an ndividual they didn't like, and as long as the body was never
found, it could be easy for them to tell the cops that they were going to meet that person near the Twin Towers, but they turned up late, and
they believe they died there, and "isn't it awful, officer? He was a good friend."

They did the same with hurricane Katrina. Not saying that I don't feel sorry for the Tragic deaths but we as people been asking for help from the goverment for years and years and we haven't got it yet when we as individuals need help we can't get it. And if you are a tax payer hell its our money anyway. so I guess people was saying get it why the getting it is good. I would not do nothing like that. But to put myself in those people shoes that did commit those frauds I see why. But God will take care it. He go take real good care of Bush.

It's a wonderful world but there are some horrible people in it. I am always amazed by the lack of conscience some thieves have but when I hear of people like that I always think that while their victim loses some money they lose far more.

Unfortunately I am not surprised. I live in Southern California & when there was a big earthquake people faked insurance claims. It makes me sad that someone would have the guts to take advantage of such a horrific situation. Wish I could hear your accent - so cool! lol.

It just shows you what type of horrible world we live in. It seems like with every disaster whether it is natural or man made it spawns the worlds worst to come out to do fraudulent things.

Sick! A lot of people are motivated by money.... for them it's the be all and end all. Hope they can live with themselves.... i know I couldn't if I'd done it. Makes them as bad as the terorists who carried out the evil act in the first place.
