Yes, England is a well respected country loved by many, especially those from commonwealth countries. People might at times have some reservations about the English and their behaviour, but generally when you tot up the marks on a number of aspects, excluding England's horribly close relationship to the United states, England generally scores high, and I suspect always will.

England is not necessarily popular.
The reason it is is mainly because of london.
England is the gateway to Britain and London has excellent transport links with the rest of the country.

Not to mention England is the country in the United Kingdom nearest to mainland Europe. Starting in Ireland can't get you far, Wales is at that same side as Ireland, next to nothing much but ocean and Scotland is a bit too far away, although still okay.

The Poms are a race of whingers, but never loud enough or with any sort of constructive sense to actually change the things that are wrong.

Apart from this they’re an ok bunch, and like most countries they have their good and bad sides (decent art galleries, museums, and quaint old villages; easy going and shaggable girls; shocking prices and crap food).

England the country is.... but NOT the English themselves
They behave too badly especially at football matches.
THEY are THE ones that get the rest of we English a bad-name
with their loutish behaviour and loud-mouthed talk!!All THEY ever do is GET DRUNK an FIGHT and insult the natives of that country.
They should ban football for the English abroad until they learn to behave like true English Gentlemen, which appear to have become a dying breed...(More's the pity..I say!!!!)
So.....clean up your act and get rid of your unwelcome behaviour.
I say this on behalf of both people abroad and the rest of we 'well-bred' well-behaved and well-mannered English!!!!
WE DO HAVE SOME LEFT..........YOU KNOW!!!!

Yes, England is popular here in Colorado, USA. Great travel destination. Ireland may be slightly better thought of.

England is hugely loved by the relatives of all the foreigners working here, mainly on account of the billions of ££££'s that are sent to them every year.

England is the mother country of America. We have had a pretty strong diplomacy since we kicked their butts in the American Revolution...

They are are strongest ally. Brits certainly have my seal of approval. An American's seal of approval...
