I would add AdAware SE and SpyBot Search & Destroy to your computer. They are designed to handle that type of infection and are updated regularly. For now, though, I would try booting into safe mode and running AVG then. Do a full scan and AVG might be able to remove the problem files.
For downloads I have always had no probs with MajorGeeks.Com. They test programs for malware before posting and in 2 yrs. of getting software from them I've never been infected. Check the left column for categories and search away for what you need. Lots of freeware.

F-secure will do you a free download and an on line scan. I had problems yesterday and I had a virus just messing things up. You can also get a 3 week trial of their software. It's not the cheapest - but probably the best. If you can't afford it at least clean up your system with the free on line scan - and then use AVG. If you know the name of the virus - find it and move it to your desktop. Try to delete it. if it won't delete - right click you task bar and run task manager - click processes - find the virus and end it as a process - then delete it!

When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".

Start Ewido. When you run it the first time, you get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK.

On the main screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start Update button.

After the Update finishes, the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful".

-- If you have problems updating see here:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/

Once the updates are installed do the following:

Click on Scanner

Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:

- Binder
- Crypter
- Archives

Click on Start Scan and let Ewido scan the PC

While the scan is in progress, you will be prompted to 'Clean files', click OK.

Go in to Safe Mode after setting up ewido but before running it.

What are the names of the viruses it found? write down the name and google them, you are sure to find instructions on how to remove it, and AVG is a very good free anti-virus, stick with that and adaware is used for spyware, not viruses....

No Adaware will not get everything, nothing will. You just have to use good judgment choosing what you will download. I use a couple of free things and each will find something different.

Consumer Reports rates Spybot as the best free spy-ware software. You can delete this files if you know their names.
I suggest a combination of anti-virus software and anti-spy-ware plus some discretion on what sites you visit.

Ewido is a great addition to your PC protection. Ad-Aware is a very good choice and you should also get Spybot Search & Destroy.

Get them all on the following page:

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
