how do you stop a 2 year old girl from smearing her walls and carpet with her own fecal matter-she does this 3/4ths the time whenever she is put down for a nap-and yes, she always goes in when shes tired, not as punishment. Its getting bad, and while most children do this at some point, hers is getting to be a bit extreme, and to be honest, i'm tired of scrubbing the carpet and walls etc. Any help from parents who've had to deal with this type of behavior would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know of any children that have done that but I suggest you see a professional about this matter because it is not normal.

Two year olds are notoriously difficult. There is a reason why they're called the terrible twos. You don't say anything about what discipline methods you use with her. A good rule of thumb is that a minute of time out is appropriate for each year of the child's age. That would be two minutes for her sitting quietly in the time out corner with no toys. It doesn't seem like much, but the child knows she's being punished. You have to be very consistent and patient, and eventually the behaviour will change. Good luck!

for my section you would possibly want to be staring at him/her. At 2 years previous and smearing Poop on the wall is a lack of conserving your eyes on them. At 2 they could get into each and every thing. i'm a Grandma to a 2 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous that would not try this the following. If mom might want to get off the settee, the smearing might want to provide up. this is probable extra sturdy once you've different children yet for those of you who've one, no excuse.

First thing to do.... don't let the child see u get flustered or upset. Calmly say" that isn't nice when we do that" then I would give her the rag or cloth to have her help you clean it off. Maybe by her/him helping will stop this child's behavior. It is natural behavior. But when you make a fuss over it they think they can do it every time just to get a rise out of you.
Good luck

My son did this. My ex-husband would freak out on him. We took him to the pediatrician who told us it was probably a phase, and he's learned that when he does it he gets a lot of attention from dad, so we were supposed to not make a big deal out of it and see if it stopped on it's own. It did eventually. I know, it's disgusting... So that's my advice... Stay calm, tell her that poop belongs in the potty, clean it up, and wait it out. Hopefully this one will pass soon for you! I think it took my son 3-4 months to stop. You should talk to your pediatrician to rule out anything, of course, and especially if it continues for a long time. Good luck!

Just a thought, is she ready to start potty training. Girls train faster than boys. I can't help with this, my children didn't smear their poo. Wish I had more options. Call the doctor. Good luck!
