If I were to date my brother's best friend...should I tell my brother? Even though we don't spend more than 2 minutes together at a time and he only talks to me when he tells me I can't or shouldn't do something?

Don't hide it but you do not have to come out and tell him. As long as you let the two of them have some time together with out wanting to still his friend all for yourself there is not a problem. If he does not have enough friends for one of them to see you for some of the time he needs to make more friends. You and your brother should once know kind of let the other know if one is bother the other in some sort of way. Like if the friend takes you to where your brother hangs out and does not feel comfortable with you around so the two of you can go else where.

hmm, this is a flip sided answer: On the one hand, it sounds like your bro , while caring about you , is also being controlling-he needs to learn your life should be your own, and you also may have known this guy you want to date for a while and know what type of person he is. If so, then go for it. HOWEVER:

How well doy ou know this guy? if it's not very well, and he is ultra-close to yourt brother, your better of holding off on dating him, at least until you can find out if he's the type of guy you'd want to be stuck with. I say stuck, because if he's your bro's best friend,if hes the wrong type of guy and you decide to call it off, he might use his leverage with your bro against you, making your life miserable for who knows how long.

Best bet-check this guy out first-how has he treated any previous girlfriends he has-be up front to him about what you will and will not put up with, what you really will not budge on-this way less fights later on because it will already be out there on the table, not a suprise. Then, if he is still interested, and visa versa, make a date, then tell your bro (best done when said friend is not around), ALSO, tell your bro about this only when he's in a really good mood. Unless of course your brother is a violent type, then its best done with friends (male and female ones) around, for your own safety. Never drop this type of news during a arguement, unless you really want a nasty fight.

well, thats the advice, hope it helps.

If your brother asks, be honest with him. Otherwise, why mention it? If he later gets upset over it, tell him that who you are seeing at the time is none of his business. Does he tell you every about every girl he dates?

For me its not betrayal. He is your brother's bestfriend and there's nothing wrong if you date with him.You can also tell your brother about it.Whether your brother gets mad or not as long as he knows you go out with him and you just talk to him.

bad ideal hun because if he dont treat you right or you guys break up then things are going to be nutty when you three are around each other and it will mess up him and your brothers friendship

You can tell him if you want. It is really not his business. He will see you two together sooner or later. no need to sneak around.
