communicated brother in front of the church. He hates her brother and now he says we are going to be kicked out. Can he do this? My wife can't belive it.

Why would a priest would say that? I am not Catholic but one thing I do know, I would go to another church. I thought as christian you should forgive. Sounds to me the priest has some kind of control issue.

the only way you can get kicked out of a church is if you have committed heresy. or a really, really bad thing. like you broke one of the ten commandments.
someone in our church got kicked out because he was having an affair with another woman, a commandment says not to do that.

Change churches. This priest is too involved in people's business and is drunk with power he doesn't have. I wonder if you can report crap like this to the diocese in your area. I would certainly try.
By the bye, how does one still get excommunicated? I didn't know they still did that.

your priest? does he have the right to do so? i thought they don't speak out what they see,hear or learning through confessions. anyway,i don't think he can kick you out!
