Why would a priest would say that? I am not Catholic but one thing I do know, I would go to another church. I thought as christian you should forgive. Sounds to me the priest has some kind of control issue.

the only way you can get kicked out of a church is if you have committed heresy. or a really, really bad thing. like you broke one of the ten commandments.
someone in our church got kicked out because he was having an affair with another woman, a commandment says not to do that.

Change churches. This priest is too involved in people's business and is drunk with power he doesn't have. I wonder if you can report crap like this to the diocese in your area. I would certainly try.
By the bye, how does one still get excommunicated? I didn't know they still did that.
