My husband once told me that I do not treat him like a husband. All of this talk came by when his girlfriends kept telling what they would and would not do if he were with them.

My answer to him was if he started to act like a husband instead of the village ram I would treat him like husband.

(village ram is aman who thinks he is God's gift to women and must have them in abundance)

I just so strongly believed that they should not be giving advice because their motive was for him to turn away from his marriage

I think you may well need to (a) have a good long hard talk with your husband and re-evaluate your marriage (b) have a good long talk with these supposed friends of his, and tell them to butt out and (c) have counselling, cos it certainly doesn't sound like a happy marriage to me if you are speaking like this to each other.

All I can say to that is your husband should NOT base his opinions on how a wife should treat her husband based on what someone has said. Remember that these people were speaking from THEIR point of view and THEIR reality, not yours nor your husband's.
The fact that your husband was so easily swayed tells me he really has no ground to stand on. And until these people have actually walked several miles in your shoes, they should mind their own business and stop sticking their noses where it doesn't belong.

It does not matter the marital status of your friends. Even if your friends cannot relate to your situation you can go to them if they can look at a situation from "outside the box" and offer non-judgemental, honest advice. That is what you need.

Since you know your friends are giving you opinions based on their personal motives then your well being, their answers will not be honest. I would not go to them but not because they are single but because they do not have honest intentions.

You are probably right. How could a single person know anything about marriage? It is kind of like a priest (one that is celebate) giving sexual advice.
