I am 27. I got off the pill June 28th. I was on it for about 8 years. I still am not pregnant and I know it can take up to a year to get pregnant, but I am wondering, how old were you when you got pregnant, and how long did it take you to get pregnant after getting off the pill?

I got pregnant the first time I ever even had sex (so when I lost my virginity), I was 16 and wasn't even trying. I always use condoms, but in July things got a little steamy and I didn't use a condom. I was 18 years old. Now I am a little over 10 weeks pregnant. So basically I've gotten pregnant two times, even though I wasn't trying...basically its the same thing lol....had unprotected sex....only took one time. Women ages 16-23 seem to be the most fertile though.

Oh and another thing, most women take about 3 months to start ovulating again. So if you stopped in June...don't even start counting how long it takes you to get pregnant until after your period in october. Heres a easy guide on when you might ovulate

30 day cycle- ovulation is on day 17
29 day cycle- ovulation on on day 16
28 day cyle- ovulation is on day 15
27 day cyle- ovulation is on day 14
26 day cyle- ovulation is on day 13

Sperm can survive in your body for up to 3-5 days...girl sperm live longer than boy sperm...so if you are trying for a boy have sex on ovulation or 1-2 days before ovulation. If you are trying for a girl have have sex 2.5-5 days before ovulation. Example of 2.5 days: If you have a 28 day cycle 2.5 days would be having sex late at night (at like 10 or 11) on day 12.

I was on the pill for about 10 years. Got off it for over a year before trying to conceive. I got pregnant the second month of us trying. I was 29 when I got pregnant and I had a very easy pregnancy.

It took me 9 months to get pregnant with my son. But I was never on birth control. After I had my son I went on the pill for 4 months. And have been trying for the last 2 years to get pregnant with no success. I am starting my second cycle of clomid so hopefully it will work :) Good luck!

Someone told me once that for every year you are on the pill, it takes that many months to get it out of your system. I don't know if that's correct, but I was on the pill for several years and it took me three months to get pregnant with my first child. For my second, I was on the pill for a little over a year and it only took me a month....so who knows? Good luck!!

I didn't use the pill and I got pregnant when I was 29 on my first try... however, my sis-in-law was on the pill for 5 years and she got pregnant the next month after she stopped. It really depends I guess...
