i think the good thing about these storylines is people can actually relate to them, i know they may be over acting a little in some scenes, but the facts are there. post natal depression is a very common problem that is quite well hidden, i got a little down after my baby (nowhere near as bad as clair) but there are alot of women out there suffering.
Down syndrome...i refused to get tested as i was prepaired to have a downs baby, if honey had found out the baby could have downs, would she be able to abort? or any other women for that matter? everyone has their own opinions on this subject, i think honey's acting this well, when i was at school there was a lad who had downs, he was in a normal mainstream school and was treated like anyone else so downs children can go on to lead a pretty good life.

The trouble with the Claire storyline is that soaps are supposed to represent real life and post natal psychosis is such a very rare condition. It would have been better with a dose as normal post natal depression than this very rare thing.

I can really see where Honey is coming from however especially as she is such a dizzy, dopey character, who has always seen the world through rose tinted glasses.

I feel that they went too far on Eastenders, as Honey was a it dizzy anyway but she would have loved her baby nomatter what, she was desperate for it, she wouldn't have had a total role reversal would she? And as for Claire in Corrie, I can kind of undersatnd where she's coming from but she wasn't as doe-eyed over having the baby in the first place as I recall. She worked for as long as she could and didn't want to stay at home at all with it. I sensed that she would end up with PND.

I suppose its useful for people who have or are going through the same thing. Claire I think is more interesting than the Honey thing, but just because Honey is so bloody irritating!

I pity them, you can understand the trauma that honey is going through, expecting a perfect baby and then getting the shock of a downs baby, not that having a downsbaby is a bad thing, but it takes a little bit of adjusting to.
A lot of women go through what claire goes through, but remember it has been dramatised for TV.

Yeah, They've both gone fruit loop.
It's funny how the soaps storyline's coincide with each other at times isn't it?
I know they are totally different scenario's but the acting's the same!
