Apple Computer Co. makes Macintosh Computers. Apple is the company, mac is the branding. The people above me who say Mac makes Apple are dumb.

Hi Lamar...Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak are the two initial engineers who designed the Apple computers and formed Apple Computer, Inc. located in Cupertino, California. Mac's (aka Macintosh) are given name for a line of the personal computers.

Apple Computer Inc. designs all Apple Computers at Cupertino,CA
at its HeadQuarters ( It was CoFounded over in Cupertino by SteveJobs,SteveWoz, Wayne) But all Apple Products are assembled in China ,for manufacturing costs in China is way low compared to the States.
When you see at the Back Side of any Apple Product , in small
fonts it Will be written " Designed in California,assembled in China"
All design stuffs goes on at Cupertino CA Branch Of Apple.
Of course Steve Jobs is smart
