galveston texas auto ferry? how much is it at the cheapest points? where are the points?

i will be coming from beaumont tx. i dont want to drive through houston to get here.. its like an extra hour.

I live just outside Beaumont. It costs nothing to ride the Galveston ferry. Just take Interstate 10 and get off at the Winnie exit. Go left under the freeway and keep going until you get to the ferry landing. It will take you straight across to Galveston.
