How many hours should go by before the fan kicks in?

On some systems you can change the settings in your BIOS other systems you can't but if you can then lower the temp.settings for it to come on earlier check out your settings and adjust if necessary.Sometimes a faulty fan can stop the system and some people disable alarms and shutdowns so check it out.

Normally with newer computers, the fans / motherboards have sensors that make the fans kick in or run faster when they sense that the computer / processor is gettin too hot.
