Easy. Press start. Now programs. Next find the Microsoft works and left click that. Now find the word processor and right click n that and pick send to (desktop short cut). It's the same for any short cut you want to make for a program, even a shortcut to your favourite MP3. Right click then send to - then left click desktop.

Start menu,programmes,microsoft works,opposite mouse click on word,send to,desktop(create shortcut)...Hope it helps....

Right click on your start button, double click my computer, double click program files, find the one you want to make a shortcut from, right click the icon and select "Create Shortcut" then drag it to your desktop.
