Technically, if your IQ is less than 70, you meet criteria for mental retardation. Don't be too disappointed. Your IQ fluctuates about 10 points and one day you could be functioning around 65 and other days, you could be functioning at 75. Also, there isn't much of a difference between 68 and 71 when it comes to cognitive functioning. Its not like you are an intelligent, independent person at 71 and a drooling idiot at 68. Scores of 68 and 71 are very similar. Mental retardation, when these numbers are so close, is just a label, a way of classifying people, and more importantly, a way of identifying people who need a little extra help. 70 is just a convenient number (2 standard deviations below the mean).

It depends on what scale you're on. On the scale that they give you in kindergarden, the average is 100. But, the scale you took might be from 0 to 100. It all depends on the scale. The last IQ Test I took said I was 152, but I don't know how good that is because I don't know the scale. It is fun to tell people, though, and watch them freak out, like I'm some kind of supergenius. Take an official IQ test that will tell you the scale as well as the average score. That will help you a lot more.

Lol the average iq is 100. A lot of people on the net will tell you thiers is really high like 124 (complete crap). 68 isn't good though. Maybe you should take another test. IQ doesn't mean that much though, I know plenty of intelligent people with low iq's.
