And Canadians pay an incredible tax burden and are still running a budget deficit....ever wonder why over 1/3 of all Canadian Md's move to the US after they've satisfied their obligatory residency? And it's even a higher percentage amongst nurses and dentists! It's because they are paid cr@p and their wonderful government manages to tax most of that!

The US has family leave for births. I'm from Canada we always came to the US to be treated, in Canada if it was an emergency you still had to wait, trust me all the people I know in Canada and my family hate it and it's eating up all the govt's money, more every year.

Waiting for your question....

And as a vet you should appreciate that Canada has no armed services to speak of, allowing them to provide this free health care and paid leaves.

Well, Canadians need a year of paid leave when they come to the US for their medical care. I live near the border, and there are many, many Canadians visiting the local hospital for surgeries because of the long wait in the "best" health care system.

Paid family leave? For what?
I'm in Toronto and I wouldn't mind knowing about that.
Maternity maybe, but only 1 spouse can get that. Not both.

Health care, yes. That's all covered free by OHIP

Nothing is free. Canada will get what they deserve relatively soon. They are living on borrowed time. Things are not as rosy in Canada as they would have people believe.

alot of places in europe have better paid family leave and comprehensive healthcare. healthcare is actually superior in the states, but is only accessible to the rich. it depends on who you ask, but if you ask rich americans, they will see no problem with the status quo american healthcare system.

robertmca is a fool. canada is in surplus, not deficit. i wonder which wall st journal he reads.
